Discount furniture from a thrift store is always a good idea for practising refinishing. If you do a lot of stripping furniture it becomes quicker and easier. We didn't use any fancy dodaddery like flow systems or such. It was all pans from the thrift shop and old paint brushes and things like you would use at home. We got to the point where an average chair would take about an hour and a half to two hours to strip. If the chair had loose joints which needed repairing, we would dismantle it first, then it could be stripped in about 20 minutes. Be sure to mark which joints connect together. Learning can be a slow process, but if you have a dining room set to strip, don't think of the whole set. Take one chair, but don't think of the whole chair. Take a leg of the chair and concentrate on it. That's all you have to strip until it's done. Keep applying stripper to the other parts so they're ready when their turn comes, but don't be concerned about stripping them until their turn comes. Stripping furniture is pretty easy so relax and enjoy your project.
PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE, BE VIRTUOUS.
