Most spray polishes contain silicone, that's what makes the shine and it's also what makes the smear when you wipe a finger across the surface and it needs to be removed periodically with a good furniture cleaner. Some spray products claim to dissolve the previous coat of polish and remove it, but they will generally dissolve and just move the previous coat around so each successive coat will add more dust and polish to the mixture.

Furniture should be cleaned with a good furniture cleaner after about three polishings to keep the dust and polish mixture from building up to obscure the fine grain pattern of your furniture.
