We're sorry, but the links to home brewing equipment have had to be suspended. Here is the rest of it though. |
Home Brew In A Crock Along with the tradition of home beer brewing the beer was traditionally brewed in a crock, then siphoned from the crock into beer bottles. In lots of cases the siphoning became a time of high spirits. Naturally as the elixir was started to siphon with each new beer bottle it took a little additional sucking on the hose to be sure the home brew beer got started through the hose ok, 'accidentally' getting an extra mouthful with each new bottle started. A CautionBack in my high school days in the middle of the last century, one of my classmates, a farmers son, dug a hole on the edge of one of his dad's fields and covered it with dirt and weeds so it couldn't be seen, then set up his home brewery and started beer making in earnest. Everything went well until his dad went through the top of the brewery with a tractor wheel. The rest is a long story, but the brew master did manage to survive the ordeal, although his beer brewing enterprise was severely curtailed, and is in the process of living to a ripe old age.
