	Gold leaf has been used for centuries to gild items, plain and ornate, to make them look like they were made of pure gold. Gold leaf is available alone or in a kit as a simulated gold, in other types of metallic leaf or almost pure gold. The leaf is so incredibly thin that, although it's made under the strictest of conditions there are always a few specks of dust to contaminate the gold, making it just slightly less than pure. There are liquids and powders that are handy for touch up for small spots on gilded items. The liquids and powders actually contain gold. The liquid gold pens need a base substance to hold the gold in suspension, so they can't be pure gold. Gold is measured in karats in the USA, 24k is pure gold and is considered to be 99.99% pure. It's measured by purity in Europe and 999 is the equivalent to 24k. (MORE BELOW)

Universal Tints compatible with most water, solvent, lacquer and oil based stains, coatings, shellacs, epoxies, waxes, varnishes, wood fillers, etc. Using these tints can make matching the stain color of a finish repair in a furniture finish much easier than mixing stains.

Gold leaf pen

A Krylon Leafing Pen-18 Kt Gold is real handy for small touch up on gilded items or to gild very small items. It can be used on items gilded with gold leaf, gold paint and gold or other metallic powder in suspension.

It's ideal for touching up chipped corners on gilded picture frames, or tarnished spots on gold metal frames.

Rub n Buff

Rub-N-Buff Finish 1/2 Ounce Tube Gold Leaf is a wax based gilding material that you can apply with a cotton swab or your finger. It can be thinned with turpentine slightly, just enough to apply it with a small brush. After it's dry it can be buffed to a high shine, not as much as gold leaf, but very nice anyway. These products should cover a lot of gilding needs, whether it's a touch up of a chipped corner with gold rub n buff or a full blown gold leaf project like a statue, with the leaf in a kit with all the necessary items or just separate.
