Remove Lead Paint

I was told that strippers do not work on cabinets painted with a lead base

Hi Katie

Strippers will remove lead base paint the same as any other paint.  That's the end of the easy part of removing lead paint.

There are dangers galore and regulations like you wouldn't believe about removing lead paint.

For starters take a look at the following web sites for lead paint removal information.
Landfill, lead paint
Government lead statutes
Lockport NY lead paint
Goverment forms
Government hazardous waste disposal

The above links are from different parts of the country so you should contact your local landfill and find out your local rules and regulations.  The information concerning your safety is the same no matter where the information comes from, so read lots.  The last link is a Google search with lots more links with information.

Don't take any of it lightly or cut any corners, because the lead paint can cause some serious problems.

Tom
