Stain pine doors to match oak trim.

Match interior pine doors with remodeling project oak trim.

Hello,
My house has wonderful, thick interior doors made of pine. For remodeling we are putting up oak trim. Is there something I can use to refinish the doors to look more like the brownish oak instead of the amber pine? I have stripped one door and tried oak stain, but it does not really match or look good.

Hi Ginny

Use dye toners to make a stain that will match oak trim

You can get a set of oil dye toners that you can use to mix in the oak stain that should let you get an exact match. Be sure to test on a scrap piece of pine first.
