Hi Debbie
A stinky dry sink is bad enough, but a stinky kitty calls for quick action. Our cat lays on the back of my chair draped around my neck in the evening and periodically figures my hygiene needs attention and he washes my hair. I end up looking like a fugitive from a rock band.
The problem is quite possibly mildew. You can take a spray bottle, such as an empty window cleaner bottle and add one part household bleach and nine parts water. It's best if you can get the dry sink outside to do the spraying, because the bleach solution will damage carpeting, drapes, paint, your clothes or almost anything else it gets on. Be sure not to spray it on the outside finish of the dry sink.
Pull out any drawers and empty them and open any doors. Spray all inside surfaces that are raw wood until they're damp, including the inside and outside of the drawers (but not the front). Lay it on it's back and spray any surfaces that you couldn't get to before. Wiping with a cloth isn't as effective as spraying, because you can't get the solution in all the nooks and crannies or cover the surface as evenly or as easily.
After everything dries you can spray it with orange oil. The orange oil will help replenish oils in the wood and will smell pleasant.
You may have to repeat the process a couple of times, but eventually it should smell ok. You'll need to watch your cat though if it's an orange one like ours, because it'll make you think it's a tail twitching orange when it comes out after the treatment.
The orange smell will diminish after a while.
