Eliminate drip marks after stripping furnitureEmail question: I used Citristrip on an old desk and I have drip spots and paintbrush marks, although the old finish is gone. It's as if they are into old pigment. Any tips for evening out this problem?
Email reply: Hi Michele Eliminate drip spots after stripping furnitureIt sounds like you still have some residue of the old paint left. You should go over the desk again with the Citristrip Stripper and clean the residue as you go with Citristrip Paint Remover Wash. The restripping should eliminate any drip spots on your furniture. Strip from the bottom upWhen you strip do it from the bottom up, then anything that runs down can be wiped from a wet surface and it won't leave any drip spots on the lower parts of your furniture. Add a light coat of stripper to the bottom sections of whatever you're stripping as you work your way up so that you always have a wet surface below where you're stripping. Tom ![]() |
