eMail question..... Hi there. I have a question I hope you can help me with. I have some bentwood chairs with round cane seats. One of the seats is busted through and I would like to replace it. Is there a way I can buy a round prewoven cane to replace the seat? The seats are not hand caned, there are no holes around the ege, just a cane band. Any advice would be greatly appreicated. Thanks - Sherry |

Response..... Hi Sherry Take a look at our page wicker catalog for chair caning supplies. The top of the page has chair cane and the bottom is wicker reed. Use the links for conventional weave and buy the width in a length that you need, then take a look at newsletter arc2003-10-23.htm in about the middle of the page there are instructions for caning with prewoven chair cane. You just use a square piece of prewoven chair cane and trim the excess after you get it installed. Where it talks about doing some on the back of the seat, then on the front, just guestimate where that would be on the circle and everything else works the same as a square cane seat.
