Reactivate paint stripper

Hi Terry

You might not be letting the stripper sit long enough to do it's work. If it sits too long and dries it can be reactivated with another coat of stripper.

Don't overbrush the stripper

Most strippers have a small amount of wax that comes to the surface to help the stripper to stay active longer. If you overbrush you could break the wax coat and possibly remove it completely, so the stripper would be less effective. Apply the stripper with a good brushfull and don't brush back over it. You might try applying the stripper, then covering it with plastic, like a plastic drop cloth. That will give the stripper more working time.

Ctiristrip stripper is environmentally safe

Your stripper has methylene chloride, which is the ingredient that dries pretty fast, does the softening and has the big smell. You might try one of the new strippers without methylene chloride. There is one called Citristrip on our catalog page that has a long open time, does a good job and smells good too.

Citristrip is environmentally safe and safer for people than the older strippers, but always use lots of ventilation when you're working with any chemicals.
