Plastic Adirondack chairs
The style doesn't change, but the material does. Instead of cedar adirondack chairs or pine adirondack chairs they're also available made of engineered wood and plastic. The plastic used is interesting, much of it is recycled. Plastic Adirondack Chairs are made of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and you'll probably find a resin code somewhere on your chair in the shape of a triangle made from three arrows with a 3 in the center and a V underneath showing what resin was used in the making or your plastic resin adirondack chair. The recycled material may be from window frames, siding, sewer pipes (I'm sure they clean them up before making chairs from them) and a myriad of other non-ingestible PVC plastic items.

Wood slats can be and should make a rounded contour front to back since our part that makes contact with the chair is generally pretty well rounded and anywhere from very ample padding to a layer of hide over the bones necessitating a cushion for your adirondack chair.
